Built in the 1880’s, this home brought with it many challenges – asbestos lining, rotting bearers, no insulation, a disintergrating roof, many windows in need of replacement and lead paint covering all of the fine French doors that opened onto the vast vernadahs. All of these items had to be dealt with prior to even thinking about the new, modern extension.

The design intent was based around restoring the homes character features whilst adding a modern extension to increase the floor area and add spaces that catered to casual open-plan living.

The end product – an amazingly beautiful renovated piece of Brisbane’s history.
